The GHUD sample scene demonstrates how generated data can drive your game.
See how characters, enemies, abilities, items, visuals, audio, and UI can be set or integrated with data from Google Sheets.Â
Choose the sample scene that matches your project's render pipeline:
Assets/GHUDatabase/Scenes/GHUDSampleScene/Scenes/GHUD_SampleScene.unity
Assets/GHUDatabase/Scenes/GHUDSampleScene/Scenes/GHUD_SampleScene_URP.unity
Assets/GHUDatabase/Scenes/GHUDSampleScene/Scenes/GHUD_SampleScene_HDRP.unity
The sample is a small automated battle simulation.
In Play Mode, the setup screen lets you:
Add or remove adventurers by character type.
Change how many enemies spawn per wave.
Change enemy spawn timing.
Change how quickly enemy waves scale over time.
When the simulation starts, the characters and enemies use GHUD data for stats, abilities, item drops, sprites, prefabs, materials, and audio clip references.
When the simulation starts, the characters and enemies use GHUD data for stats, abilities, item drops, sprites, prefabs, materials, and audio clip references.
During the simulation you can press Esc to pause the action, Spacebar to speed it up, or click Quit to go back to the settings.
The default data comes from the GHUD Template Google Sheet. Once you make your own copy and connect it to Unity, you can change the cell values and see their effect in the sample.
For example, change the Goblin size value in the Enemies tab from `0.5` to `1.5`.
After making tat adjustment on your database sheet, go back to the Unity editor and:
1. Open Tools > GHUD > Window. (Dock the popup GHUD window if desired)
2. Click Get Cell Data
3. Open to the sample scene. Make sure to select the one that matches your render pipeline.
4. Enter Play Mode.
5. Run the simulation.
You should now see the Goblins are much larger than before.
The sample is included for demonstration only. It is not intended to be used as a game template.
You must remove the GHUD sample scene before you can remove or rename the tabs, rows, and columns that the sample depends on.
When you are ready to use GHUD for your own project, remove the sample through the GHUD Window so related sample files are removed cleanly.
Because there are files in multiple directories that contribute to the sample scene, the safest way to remove the sample scene is to use the purple Delete GHUD Sample button, to ensure nothing is missed in the deletion process, and no necessary GHUD system files are accidentally deleted.
