Shane Mitchell is a Senior Gameplay Engineer with nine years of experience building gameplay and multiplayer systems, UI, editor tools, and data-driven pipelines from prototype through release. He has led programming teams on three professional game projects, contributed to eight shipped titles, and works across Unreal Engine 5 and Unity using C++, Blueprints, and C#.
Shane Mitchell is a Senior Gameplay Engineer experienced across Unreal Engine 5, Unity, C++, Blueprints, and C#. His experience spans all stages of game development, from early prototyping to release and post-launch support. Shane has worked extensively in gameplay programming, multiplayer systems, data-driven architecture, UI architecture, scene assembly, animation systems, editor tooling, technical leadership, and build workflows. He also has experience with 3D modeling, rigging, particle effects, sound integration, texturing, and technical design pipelines.
Shane currently works as an Unreal Engineer at Digital Scorpion Interactive and Lead Unity Developer at Panacea Interactive. At Digital Scorpion, he led five developers to ship Frogdoku in Unreal Engine 5 and now develops C++ gameplay systems for an unannounced multiplayer title. At Panacea Interactive, he leads development of Medimon, programming gameplay, battle, inventory, UI, and dialogue systems while architecting the data pipeline and generative-AI NPC systems.
Previously, Shane served as Lead Game Developer at Dream Foundry Games, leading five programmers on a 20-person team for Leviathan. He built Photon Fusion multiplayer systems, architected networked gameplay across a 2 km² world, and developed editor tools that saved over 100 designer hours. While at Dream Foundry Games, Shane contributed to 10 games and prototypes across PC, Mac, iOS, and Android.
Before joining Dream Foundry Games, Shane developed independent games and prototypes through Grand Hawk Union, including the shipped title Knights of the Exploding Table.
Shane holds a B.S. in Computer Science / Business Administration from Pepperdine University.
Shane is a lifelong fan of RPGs, strategy games, Nintendo titles, and indie games, with a particular interest in systems design, mechanics analysis, and worldbuilding.
Outside of video games, Shane designs and runs tabletop RPG campaigns using Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder. He enjoys building custom systems, balancing mechanics, and creating campaign-specific tools, including Unity software used to support play.
