"I’ve had the pleasure of working with Shane, and he’s one of those rare developers who combines deep technical skill with a genuinely outstanding work ethic. He consistently takes ownership of difficult problems, driving them from concept to completion with focus and persistence. Whether tackling a tough gameplay mechanic, debugging a difficult engine issue, or learning an unfamiliar framework, Shane approaches each challenge with enthusiasm and professionalism. During my work with him, I have seen him rapidly adapt to new technologies, quickly absorbing new tools and techniques. Beyond his technical strengths, Shane is also a good leader and collaborator. He shares his knowledge freely, and helps others grow."
- Noah Ternullo, Chief Systems Engineer at Dream Foundry Games
"Shane handled work for us based on an already‑completed game project. It wasn’t a problem for him at all, and his professional approach not only helped add the requested content but also improved what was already there.
Highly recommended."
- Michał "Venris" Cieczko, of SFO Mod Team
"Shane was an absolute delight to work with - always positive, bringing ideas to the table and ultimately helped to bring my GDD to life and beyond. He was always receptive to feedback and attentive to any issues or new developments that needed to be addressed, which often came up in Design Meetings.
He has a deep passion for game development that I felt matched my own - which allowed us to work back and forth to sift through ideas and address issues on the ongoing design of the game. I believe that this ultimately lead to a better project.
He was always present at meetings, whether they directly pertained to him or not - and I could tell that he strived to be as involved with each facet of the game's development as possible. In doing so, I could always count on the fact that he'd be up to date with every new design decision, QA concern, art implementation, or otherwise.
I'd highly recommend Shane for a development role, and perhaps even a junior design role. He knows his stuff and he gets the job done -and done well, -never did I have any issues with his punctuality in meeting deliverables. "

"I have had the pleasure of working with Shane Mitchell since November 2025, when he joined the Medimon team as our lead software engineer. From the beginning, Shane stood out for his work ethic, initiative, and ability to take ownership of complex technical challenges.
Even before he was hired, Shane had taken the time to play Medimon, test the platform, and post thoughtful bug reports and recommendations in our Discord. That same level of preparation and initiative has defined his work ever since.
Shane inherited a platform with basic functionality and essentially rebuilt the codebase and development workflow from the ground up. As our lead software engineer, he has been responsible not only for troubleshooting and implementing new features, but also for developing the systems that allow our artists, writers, musicians, and educators to efficiently integrate their work into the platform. One especially valuable example was a workflow he created that allows non-technical team members to edit game data through Google Sheets and automatically push those changes into the project. This dramatically improved our development process and made the platform much easier for the broader team to manage.
Shane has also built our sprint and branch workflows, contributed substantially to game balancing and the overall player experience, and consistently exceeded the milestones we set for him. During a period in which our goal was to complete three Medimon levels, Shane helped us complete five while also laying the technical foundation for the remaining two. His work has been instrumental in implementing the majority of the planned game systems and bringing the Medimon demo to Steam.
Just as importantly, Shane is an outstanding teammate. He works extremely well independently and requires very little oversight, but he is equally effective collaborating across disciplines. He is patient with non-technical team members, receptive to feedback, professional in difficult situations, and remarkably calm during the pressure of launch deadlines. He approaches challenges with a measured, positive attitude while remaining realistic about what is required to solve them.
Shane is dependable, hardworking, knowledgeable, and highly resourceful. When he encounters something he does not know, he takes the initiative to learn it and find a solution. I would recommend Shane without hesitation to any team looking for a talented Unity developer or software engineer who combines strong technical ability with ownership, professionalism, and an exceptional work ethic."
