Shane has incorporated many skills into his game development career. He has 8 years of experience with Unity, and C#, and has worked in all aspects of a project's life cycle, from start to finish. Shane has experience in stat databases, asset databases, game design, level design, Unity Scene Integration, UI Programming, 3D modeling, 3D animation, rigging, particle effects, sound effects, texturing, icons, input management, project management, and publishing.
Shane has a B.S. in Computer Science / Business from Pepperdine University. His education continued through his experience working for Prism Management as a Pension Administrator. In that position, Shane was tasked with maintaining and updating the company's proprietary defined benefit valuation system in both VBA and Excel. Shane's experience in this environment, as well as his computer science background helped him to jump right into game development, while his business background strengthened his ability to lead his development teams for success.
Shane is a husband and father of three. His family is his greatest treasure in this world. Shane worked as a Pension Administrator from 2015 to 2022. Wanting to work in a field he loves, Shane acquired game development skills in this time, and gained employment as a Game Developer in 2022 with Dream Foundry Games. Within a year of his time working there, Shane moved up to the Lead Developer position. In this role, he worked on several game projects and proposals for Dream Foundry Games, the largest of which was Leviathan, a First Person online Looter-Shooter. Sortly after Leviathan was published, Shane was laid off due to the company's financial situation. Shane continues to work on Knights of the Exploding Table, while seeking new full-time employment.
Shane has enjoyed video games since early childhood and still continues to play them. Over the years, he has collected Stars with Mario, explored dungeons with Link, blasted space animals with Fox, read hours of lore with Samus, completed the National Dex across 6 Pokemon Regions, saved the universe with Kirby, and settled it in Smash over 100,000 times. While Nintendo games have tended to be his favorites, he has also enjoyed games from other publishers and Indie developers.
Shane's other big hobby is Table-Top-RPGs; Dungeons and Dragons 3.5e, and Pathfinder 1e. He tends to favor complicated builds for his characters, often choosing wizard, or multi-class characters. He once played as a Cleric Rogue Sorcerer Assassin who infiltrated the nobility and became the king! Shane GMs the games about half of the time, which he enjoys as much as he enjoys playing. When GMing the games, Shane likes to add a gameplay twist to keep things fresh. He's run a game in which the players were kings leading armies, a game in which the players make 100% custom characters using an ability point-buy system, a low resource game with survival mechanics, and a game with a multi-level dungeon constructed and played within Minecraft. Shane even built Unity software to run one of his campaigns!
